we will get to know the latest motorcycle transformation project carried out by the team of custom motorcycle builders behind the famous music video starring a Triumph Scrambler known as “RUMBLER 900”. Ten years later, the team has reunited to create its sequel, a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE that promises to be bigger and more powerful than its younger sibling.

The birth of RUMBLER 1200

The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE is the result of joining forces between Jochen Schmitz-Linkweiler’s JSL team and Jens vom Brauck from JvB-moto, who were inspired by the RUMBLER 900 and its success on social media, with more than half a million views. The new 1200 version required a similar transformation that would turn it into a machine capable of tackling any surface.

Improvements and customization

The customization work began with the removal of those unattractive elements that manufacturers usually add to motorcycles to comply with regulations or to reduce costs. JvB-moto took care of the design, removing the license plate holder, replacing the rear fender with a customized one, and incorporating a more streamlined license plate holder with an LED light. The front fender and fork covers were also replaced with more streamlined and functional parts.

The next step was to create a front mask that would give the iconic JvB-moto look to the bike. The simple headlight was replaced with a recessed LED one, and the mask was added, integrating the lighting to achieve a clean and modern finish. JvB designed and manufactured custom side covers and a heat shield for the exhaust.

Suspension upgrades and other details

JSL focused on improving the suspension, adjusting the existing components and reducing unsprung weight. To achieve this, the wheel size was reduced to 19 inches in front and 18 inches in the rear, using lightweight aluminum rims and Bridgestone dual-sport tires. The suspension was rebuilt, including the installation of new springs and reducing the height at the front. This provided a steering angle of 64.5°, offering a more comfortable ride on all types of surfaces.

In addition, LSL XO1 handlebars, LSL BOW adjustable levers in 6 positions were installed, and the instrument panel bracket was redesigned for easier access to the key. Finally, a new matte finish was given to the fuel tank, and the seat was remodeled to make it more resistant and durable, ready to face any adventure.

The public presentation of the RUMBLER 1200 will take place at the Club Of Newchurch, before crossing the Pyrenees again and ending at Wheels and Waves in Biarritz, completing a 10-year journey that has resulted in two triumphant Triumph Scramblers.
