The creation of the “Red Rooster”
The owner of the motorcycle, Robert, arrived at the NCT workshop with a 2001 BMW R1150 GS and a complete design in hand. As a professional illustrator, his skills with color and attractive line design were crucial to this project. The motorcycle was completely disassembled, and work began on the structure of its new rear chassis. The colors chosen for the motorcycle were firetruck red and mustard yellow, which, although contrasting, result in a striking and attractive combination.
Details and components of the “Red Rooster”
The motorcycle’s engine underwent a complete overhaul, albeit without major improvements. The original pipes were retained, but a huge Akrapovic exhaust was added. Mario, NCT’s new workshop manager, rewired the BMW by hand and included a new M-Unit from the German company Motogadget.
The original handlebars were replaced with higher ones made by Fehling. The old instruments were kept, but the speedometer was replaced with a smaller T&T unit. The tires are Metzeler Karoo 3. The seat was the most complicated part of the build, as the owner is over 2 meters tall, so extra effort had to be made to ensure his comfort while riding.
